Network of Community Ministries Food Pantry Summer Associate VISTA I

June 3rd – August 12th

The Food Pantry Summer Associate VISTA I will provide volunteers with a firm foundation in proper procedures, training, and client protocols, identify areas of improvement and implement program change that will continue to offer smoother delivery of service after their service has ended.  

  • Assist clients with the shopping experience in the Food pantry
  • Provide ongoing and basic training to volunteers in the food pantry and warehouse areas  
  • Review existing procedures, suggest improvements, and implement protocols in the Food Pantry area.

The Food Pantry Summer Associate VISTA II will provide volunteers with a firm foundation in proper procedures, training, and client protocols, identify areas of improvement and implement program change that will continue to offer smoother delivery of service after their service has ended.  

  • Assist clients with the shopping experience in the Food pantry
  • Provide ongoing and foundational training to volunteers in the food pantry and warehouse areas  
  • Review existing procedures, suggest improvements, and implement protocols in the Food Pantry area.

Network of Community Ministries Case Management Summer Associate VISTA  

June 3rd – August 12th

The Case Management Summer Associate VISTA will provide volunteers with a firm foundation in proper producers, training, and client protocols. VISTA’s will also identify areas of improvement and implement program change that will continue to offer smoother delivery of service even after their service has ended.  

  • Assist clients through the interview and certification processes to receive assistance through Network’s programs 
  • Provide ongoing and foundational training to volunteer Interviewers/Case Managers and serve as a model of excellence 
  • Review existing procedures, suggest improvements, and implement protocols in the Interviewer/Case Manager area

Network of Community Ministries Client Intake Specialist Summer Associate VISTA 

June 3rd – August 12th

The Client Intake Specialist Summer Associate VISTA will provide volunteers with a firm foundation in proper producers, training, and client protocols. VISTA’s will also identify areas of improvement and implement program change that will continue to offer smoother deliverance of services, even after their VISTA service has ended.

  • Assist clients with initial screening for eligibility and collect the necessary data 
  • Provide training the Reception area volunteers and serve as a model of excellence 
  • Review existing procedures, suggest improvements, and implement protocols in the Client Intake and Call area

Network of Community Ministries Clothing Closet Summer Associate VISTA  

June 3rd – August 12th

The Clothing Closet Summer Associate VISTA will provide volunteers with a firm foundation in proper producers, training, and client protocols. VISTA’s will also identify areas of improvement and implement program change that will continue to offer smoother delivery of service even after their service has ended.

  • Assist clients with a positive, free shopping experience in the Clothing Closet 
  • Provide training to Clothing Closet volunteers and serve as a model of excellence 
  • Review existing procedures, suggest improvements, and implement protocols in the Clothing Closet area.

Network of Community Ministries Development and Marketing Summer Associate VISTA 

June 3rd – August 12th

The Development and Marketing Summer Associate VISTA will contribute to and update donor and grantor data management necessary for Network to stay visible in the community and attract needed resources for program delivery.

  • Update the donor database to improve reliability and functionality 
  • Organize current paper files for Network’s grantor relationships to make more current and consistent across grantors.   
  • Contribute to ongoing public awareness efforts including social media posting, information and photo gathering, mailings, event reporting, and media communication to increase Network’s community presence

EFTX Camp Summer Associate VISTA I

May 20th- July 29th

The Epilepsy Foundation Texas (EFTX) Camp Summer Associate I will help implement and manage 3 summer camps for children with epilepsy including: Camp Spike ‘n’ Wave – Houston/Dallas/East Texas CWE ages 8-14, Camp Neuron – Fort Worth/West Texas CWE ages 8 -14, and Kamp Kaleidoscope – All Teens with Epilepsy ages 15-19.

  • Project management and processing of camper’s and counselor’s applications
  • Coordinate program activities at 3 EXTX Summer Camps

EFTX Camp Summer Associate II

May 20th- July 29th

EFTX Transition Education Summer Associate VISTA

May 20th- July 29th

The Transition Education Program offers opportunities for teens with epilepsy to learn self-advocacy skills in order to get information about managing their seizures and preparing for adulthood. Teens will learn these skills through education, community sharing and working together to in a project to share with the general public.

  • Work with Transition Education Coordinator to develop a self-advocacy curriculum
  • Implement self-advocacy curriculum in all 3 EFTX summer camps
  • Coordinate survey process at baseline and follow-up

EFTX Fund Development Summer Associate VISTA

May 20th- July 29th

The Epilepsy Foundation Texas Development Summer Associate VISTA will assist with four major West Texas Events to raise awareness and financial support for their medical clinics, education programs and summer camps.

  • Obtain auction items and sponsorships from past donors for each event
  • Research additional area businesses and services appropriate to sponsor an event or provide an in-kind donation. 
  • Submit requests for sponsorships and in-kind donations 
  • Create marketing materials to be used across print, digital and social media

CEC Resource Coordinator Summer Associate VISTA

Stop summer learning loss and hunger for at-risk and homeless children as a VISTA Summer Resource Coordinator with Community Enrichment Center in North Richland Hills, TX.

  • Researching and implementing educational activities to prevent summer learning loss
  • Serving meals and providing education about healthy meal and lifestyle choices.
