RSVP: Serving Denton County

Chisholm Trail RSVP, Inc (RSVP: Retired and Senior Volunteer Program) was established in 1973 with the vision of providing services, in the form of volunteer recruitment, placement, and management, to nonprofit and government agencies within Denton County. RSVP volunteers the critical needs of the community by connecting seniors 55 + with over 100 partnering nonprofits. Volunteers serve the following focus areas: Education and Healthy Futures. Recently, RSVP has also launched a new initiative in response to the Opioid Crisis affecting our country.

In 2013, the Corporation for National and Community Service approved Chisholm Trail RSVP, Inc. as an Intermediary AmeriCorps VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America) Project. RSVP of Denton County is one of the select few 501 (c) (3) projects across the nation associated with the Corporation for National & Community Service. RSVP helps provide CNCS resources to other eligible entities, often smaller organizations that otherwise might not have access to such resources. With the organizational capacity to develop and support multiple VISTA sites across North Texas, RSVP is able to provide close project supervision and logistical support. The goal of AmeriCorps VISTA North Texas is to strengthen and support organizations by improving infrastructure, expanding community partnerships, securing long-term resources, training program participants, and developing activities to build long-term sustainability.
