Chisholm Trail RSVP, Inc. sponsors the AmeriCorps VISTA North Texas Intermediary Project located in Denton, TX. The AmeriCorps grant allows us to identify and partner with 501(c)3 non-profit organizations in the North Texas region and beyond to set up VISTA Projects.
VISTA projects are designed to build permanent capacity and infrastructure to help bring individuals and communities out of poverty. AmeriCorps VISTA identifies and partners with non-profit organizations who alleviate poverty through five anti-poverty focus areas: Education, Veterans and Military Families, Economic Opportunity, Healthy Futures, and Disaster Services.
Goals for VISTA members may include establishing systems, institutionalizing knowledge, and developing community relationships to better generate resources, encourage volunteer service at the local level, and empower individuals and communities to address urgent social needs.
